Ducati has sent out a reminder that its first new model unveiling for 2023 is taking place this Friday – and we can deduce that the bike involved is a new Lamborghini-branded version of the Streetfighter V4.

The two Italian exotica companies have worked together before, notably with the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini, but the new machine appears to take a sportier angle that’s more befitting the Lambo name. Although Ducati’s teaser image shows only a small body panel, by lightening the image (below) we can see an oil cooler pipe and exhaust servo cables under the green, red and carbon body part, matching the lower right-hand front of the Streetfighter V4’s 1103cc engine.

The lower side body panel shown in the teaser image is new, differing from that of the stock Streetfighter V4 in its shape and material but including the same rear fixing bolt, with a flash of Italian flag above it.

The Lamborghini link comes in the green and red paintwork and the distinctive ‘STO’ logo. In this instance, it stands for ‘Super Trofeo Omologato’ in reference to the high-end Lamborghini Huracan STO, a street-legal version of the company’s Super Trofeo race car. The colours also match a scheme available on the Huracan STO, although the car is also available in other shades including a blue and orange option, so there’s a chance Ducati’s matching Streetfighter V4 will be offered in the same hues.

All will be revealed at 5.30pm UK time on Friday 2nd September 2022.
