Just as we predicted back in February, Harley-Davidson has just released details of the new Low Rider El Diablo – a limited-edition model from the Icons Collection, based on the existing Low Rider ST, styled to hark back to the West Coast custom trends of the early eighties.

Its aim is best described by Brad Richards, Vice President of Design and Creative Director - Motorcycles “The Low Rider El Diablo is a modern expression of the iconic 1983 Harley-Davidson FXRT and a representation of the creative times it was born in. It embodies the spirit of counterculture in Southern California in the ’80s in a contemporary package that features meticulously crafted custom paint, including pinstripe trajectories that nod directly to those of the original FXRT.

While the bike carries over much of the Low Rider ST, including the frame-mounted fairing, the look of the bike is transformed by a unique paint scheme applied by renowned paint house Gunslinger Custom Paint. Hand applied gold pin striping complements the Candy Red fogging that became a main stay of the 80's California custom scene.

If the custom paint job isn't quite loud enough for you, the El Diablo is fitted with a custom audio system from Rockford Fosgate. Boasting 250 watts of peak power and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, the system is partnered by a mobile app and offers Automatic Volume Control – increasing or decreasing the audio volume based on your speed.

Under the custom paint and audio enhancements, the technical specification of El Diablo matches the Low Rider ST with the 117ci (1923cc) Milwaukee Eight engine developing peak power of 105bhp (78KW) and peak torque of 125 ft lbs (198Nm).

The bike also retains the Low Rider ST's 43mm inverted forks, blacked out engine, bronze wheels and swept back handbars, accentuating that West Coast style.
